Angela Corey
Civil Celebrant
Hello my name is Angela, welcome to my website.
I would like to share a little bit about me and how I came to be a Civil Celebrant.
In 2006 my Father passed away quite suddenly at the age of 56. It was a huge shock for us all and we all coped in different ways.
Two years after my Father died I questioned grief and how I was grieving. That led to me being referred to Bereavement Support to help me understand where I was in my grief journey.
In 2012 I trained to become a Bereavement Support worker and went on to volunteer for Cruse Bereavement.
This then led to my next role as a Funeral Administrator for a corporate Funeral Directors. I was so passionate about this role as it was such a privilege.
In 2015 my Mother died and I officiated her funeral service myself. People said that I should think about becoming a celebrant but I wasn't ready for it at that time.
After almost 3yrs I was promoted to the position of Funeral Director which in many ways took me away from being able to offer and provide the support I had been to families when I was an Administrator.
Becoming a Celebrant has been the best decision I have made in my working life.
This role gives me everything that I was looking for. This isn't just a job for me. I sit with families and I think to myself that this is exactly where I should be.
What I do, really is a privilege.
